2022 will see Atherton Cricket Club celebrate its 150th Anniversary, since being first established in 1872, and the club is working hard to create a series of events to mark such a fantastic achievement.
The first of these will be a celebration dinner on Saturday 26th March 2022, hosted at Leigh Miners Welfare Institute, Leigh. Our organising committee are currently in the process of sending invitations, by both standard mail and electronic channels, to members past and present who have played a part in the history and development of our club through the decades.
The evening will be hosted by Roy Cavanagh MBE, who is a long-time friend of the club and author of many excellent cricket books. Guests can expect to enjoy:
- Arrival drinks with music provided by Tyldesley Brass Band
- A fabulous 3 course meal
- Guest speaker: Geoff Miller (Former Derbys CCC & England; England National Selector)
- Inductions into the Atherton CC Hall of Fame
- Entertainment from the amazing Luke McColl (Singer & DJ)
On the evening there will be a special commemorative programme for each of the attendees and we would love to include memories and recollections of current and former players, members and supporters. To share you thoughts please contact us through the website or email 150@athertoncc.com.
